Green Lantern fic: Who you are without the ring (OC)

I was reading about the DC reboot the other day and how the new line-up was supposed to be more diverse, so I thought 'what if they weren't laughing when they said that?' And now we have a story about a genderqueer Green Lantern.

As for Scott Free and Big Barda, what story isn't better for having them randomly show up?

But I will sit through the entire movie if, at the very end, James Franco is enslaved by CGI monkeys and forced to turn the Lincoln Memorial into a monument to chimpanzee Tim Roth. Then Mark Wahlberg lands in a spaceship and goes "Huh?"

Then, over the end credits, Tim Burton rants at the audience. "See? Now my Planet of the Apes remake makes perfect sense! DADDY ISSUES BLACK AND WHITE SPIRALS DANNY ELFMAN MUSIC!!!"

Just saw a post on tumblr with a "Trigger Warning: Discussion of Vancouver Riots"

That's good, because you don't want to set off a survivor of the Vancouver Riots. Just a few words and it all comes flooding back. The smell of maple syrup as Americans were lynched in the street for beating Canucks at hockey, the crisp new-rock sound of the Barenaked Ladies masking the gunshots as hostages were executed by men in Wolverine masks, the food shortage that left men eating each other in the streets like rabid dogs and washing down the taste of human flesh with milk sold in bags...
