metafandom links, it seems like there are a thousand reasons to write slash and fanfiction, but I think the one that all the analysis loses sight of is simply telling a good story. It's great if writing slash empowers someone or serves as a cornerstone in their communal fan experience, but isn't causing an emotion -- be it arousal, laughter, disgust, sadness, or what have you -- enough of a reason to write anything?
