So the guys behind Punisher: Dirty Laundry did sort of a Venom/Man Bites Dog crossover fanfilm about French journalists making a documentary about Eddie Brock, played by Ryan Kwanten. It’s pretty fun just to see him have shades of ‘doofy guy with a heart of gold’ Jason Stackhouse in the middle of being ‘shoop-de-whoop psychopath New York accent’ Eddie Brock. I really just brought this up to say—Venom without the white spider insignias on the front and back? When did that happen? I know they did that in Spider-Man 3, but I thought everyone agreed that never happened. Is that what he looks like in comics now? Because without the white spider bits, he’s just a naked black guy with Spawn’s head, and I’m pretty sure I can see that in a Lisa Ann porno.

Also, since when does Venom just kinda indiscriminately kill people? I know he’s in that weird Marvel villain/anti-hero zone, where even Sabretooth can join the X-Men, but if you read comics at all in the 90s, you know this motherfucker was always going on about “the innocents!" It was like his thing. Heat, sound, innocents. That’s all you need to know about Venom. Also, Catholicism, if you wanna be really nuanced.

I don’t know, I hate to poop on someone’s silly fanfilm, but maybe before you call the guy from True Blood, work on an understanding of the character a little beyond naked black guy with Spawn’s head?

Could be as a fan film they couldn't use the spider symbol? Because he has it in the comics still.
