So recently my dad got laid off and he needs some money to support himself while he searches for a new job. I, as you can imagine, barely make enough to keep myself in beer and chips, so if I’m going to help him out, I’m going to need a good deal of money in a short amount of time. And all I’m really good at is writing about fictional lesbians (well, and straight people. But I suck at boyslash. It’s important to know your limitations).
So I’m going to try my hand at taking commissions. I’ve never done this before, but word on the street says twenty bucks for five thousand words is fair. And I’ll write anything. N-E-thing. Plus, do not even worry about delays. When I’m writing a one-shot, I usually get it done in an afternoon. It’s longfics, with the plotting and the character development and the frick and the frack, that hit snags. So I think I could promise turn-around of about a week, just to guarantee a product that’s well-researched and proof-read and all the other stuff I don’t bother with when I just want to write about Regina Mills’s adventures with magic strap-ons.
I figure we could do this Yuletide letter style. I trust everyone’s familiar with that—with the plus that you only have to provide one plotbunny you really want written. Or you could give me options. It’s your dime. I don’t know, I just need money.
I’ve watched a lot of 80s movies, and in all of them, using your geeky hobby to raise a lot of money ends up saving the rec center. Don’t make the eighties a liar!
