seriousficBy now you know that, yes, the only way to watch Oz The Great And Powerful is assuming that Evanora (Rachel Weisz) wants to get skin on green skin with Theodora (Mila Kunis). But where did this incestuous lesbian subtext come from? Let's go back to the script to find out! And while no one can bring the gay quite like Rachel Weisz, a complete lack of personal space was totally in the script.
THEODORA
You're my Sister. How can you even think I'd choose Glinda over you?
EVANORA
Because there's still a part of you that still wants to be like Glinda: Beautiful… and beloved… rather than hated and feared, like me.
(strokes Theodora's hair)

And we could've had hair stroking? Goddamnit, Disney, who toned that down to Evanora licking Theodora's apple (not an euphemism... yet)? And while the rest of the script shares, to a larger degree, the movie's problem of giving the Wicked Witch an "origin story" that's just her getting nagged into being evil, in the script, things go full-on Harlequin romance.

(suddenly grabs Theodora by the hair)

Once again THE DIAMOND DAGGER magically appears in her hand—she savagely stabs it into the table, embedding the blade in the wood.

The time has come—you must ACCEPT the Evil inside of you! You must EMBRACE THE HATE!
Theodora—eyes on the Dagger—finally shrieks—
