My personal canon is that movieverse Obidiah Stane is actually Kevin Flynn from TRON, all grown up and turned bad. Which lends his story a certain tragic poignancy, if you think about it; he's become the Ed Dillinger to Tony Stark's Flynn, like Puer et Senex.
