None of the comics since Green Lantern: Rebirth ever happened. In fact, Hal Jordan was never the Spectre. As Parallax, he was too powerful to be imprisoned, so the Justice League used Black Mercy (from For The Man Who Has Everything, a hallucinogen powerful enough to stop Superman) to trap Hal in his own fantasy world, one where Hal's own id absolves him of any wrongdoing. "Destroyed the Green Lantern Corps? No, that wasn't you, that was a yellow fear bug! Dated a woman who was mentally twelve years old? Those were alien years; she was really a hundred years old! Drunk driving? Never happened? Getting old? No, you're young! You just had a threesome with Huntress and Lady Blackhawk!"

Everything Geoff Johns has ever written is basically the Mary Sue fantasy of a broken old man who can't accept responsibility for his own actions.

Aw nuts, if I'd known you would have posted this here, then I would have left my comment here rather than on Tumblr. Well, just to cover my bases:

While it’s a good theory, I think this is the second time you’ve attributed the Huntress/Blackhawk threesome thing to Geoff Johns. I’m 99% positive that was actually Judd Winick in “Cry for Justice.” For this to work, you've have to go back a few years earlier to including Day of Judgement, which is where he became the Spectre.

Quite right, my mistake. I can't believe I'm at a point where I can get those two confused these days, but that's where we are.
