Lost Girl 2x03
Sep. 29th, 2011 06:57 pmOh, Lost Girl, how you disgrace the noble A Nightmare On Elm Street rip-off episode. Generally, these episodes are used to give insight into characters, and sometimes even portend later goings-on in the series. Lost Girl makes Bo's nightmares all about Dyson. Because that's entirely what her character is about. It's something we couldn't have figured out with the last two episodes.
2x01 - Dyson: WE ARE BROKEN UP.
2x02 - Dyson: WE ARE TOTALLY BROKEN UP.
2x03 - Bo: I think me and Dyson are broken up.
It just makes Bo seem so shallow, which she pretty much is, that all her fears revolve around being unloved and alone. She doesn't even care that Dyson got a chunk of his soul ripped out, but that it's the part that likes her. What about her mother being a crazy person? Or her kinda-girlfriend getting called chattel to her face? Or all those times she ate innocent people? For a character piece, all this episode tells us is that Bo's incredibly self-absorbed.
