We see more of the mysterious backstory revealed in bits and fragments, slowly laying out the plot for us clue by clue. Previously, Starfire made reference to a "boy-spell", presumably cast by Raven, which gave her a male phallus. It might possibly have done more than that, giving her a "male gaze" attraction to Raven. Certainly, her female-oriented sexuality is focused on the chest as per a typical male.

As near as I can tell with what few clues have been revealed so far, Raven cast a "boy-spell" on Starfire for unknown reasons, then went to take a nap. But in the most significant development, we learn that Raven has cast a "boobie spell" on herself, giving her engorged breasts. Is this for practical purposes, i.e. she needs to lactate? It seems an out-there plot twist, but for what other reason could the very un-sensual Raven need larger breasts?

As for the boobie spell itself, it certainly seems more plausible than a boy-spell. We know Raven's usual power works akin to Invisible Woman's forcefields: The focus and direction of a sort of "dark matter". It seems plausible that this dark matter could be used like the silicone in a breast implant, although obviously this ignores several medical facts. Of concern is how much elasticity the dark matter possesses. A breast that's hard and unwielding may be pleasing to the eye, but in the showdown the natural breast is vastly preferred.

A boy-spell, on the other hand, even if only giving Starfire a phallus, must be quite intricate for it to mesh with her biology. This phallus is no mere dong, but is apparently capable of erection and of ejaculating a "boy-load" as Starfire puts it. This kind of complex spellwork seems beyond the ken of Raven's usual power level. Has she been upgraded in some way, perhaps by Trigon, which also allows her to use a "boobie spell" on herself? Could this be part of some Dark Phoenix plot, where Raven has gained more than the ability to enlarge her breasts, but also the inclination? Note that the only canonical Raven/Starfire kiss took place between a similarly "slutty" evil Raven and a Kory (who notably did not have a dick at the time, in more ways than one... wedding's off, suckas).

If, indeed, the larger meta-plot is hinting at a theme of the temptation of power, as conveyed through a sexual metaphor, then surely Starfire taking "just a peek" renders her a foil for Raven, a cypher to a larger struggle for identity and self-worth in a gruesomely sexualized world.

Bravo, auteur. Bravo.

*snickers* Good stuff. Can't wait to see your take on DTiberius's "Transformation-X." Though, at least in that one, I'd say he nailed the *initial* reaction pretty damn well... even if Star got comfortable with it waaay too quickly.
