The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Thanks, David Kelley. It's good to know someone will be picking up Smallville's mantle of "show that got canon's number at a bar but hasn't talked to it since."

Wanna know the sad thing? Successful corporate executive by day, crime-fighter by night, from the creator of Ally McBeal and Boston Legal sounds like an awesome Power Girl series. Plus, you could get a lot of comedic mileage out of the girls (you know, Peej, Terra, and all the rest. Not to mention her tits). Karen doesn't even have a set origin to preserve. Kelley could say she got into a wacky science accident and I'd say "Yeah, okay." But because Wonder Woman is a bigger brand name, she's gonna get hacksawed into David E. Kelley's Superhero Lady.

We lost out on Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman for this?

Goddamnit it, this is why you should have some sort of advisory role whenever people come up with tv shows. That sounds like an awesome Peej vehicle which I would love to watch.

Diora Baird as Peej. I'm certain she could provide a... well-rounded portrayal of the character.

As I said when this project was thought to be dead, I don't think that Wonder Woman is a good fit for TV budgets.

Part of the problem, as much as I loved Boston Legal and certain parts of Picket Fences, is that David Kelly is and always has been utter dogshit at writing women. Ally McBeal was basically a Trojan horse of anti-feminism, and Kelly's female characters fall into an even more tiresomely narrowly defined niche of "strong female characters" than Joss Whedon's.

I wonder how they'll justify the change? She found some Amazon relic that gives her powers? Or maybe Themiscrya is fully integrated into the world, she went to college in the US, got a job and lives here.

As long as I see Briget Regan in the role of Dian Prince as The Wonder Woman, I'll be happy with whoever does it, but I will say.... Joss does a great Bad Ass Female Strong type! So does J.J. Abrahms for that matter (Alias, Lost, Fringe!) I hope Kelly goes this route and not Ally McBeal type, she was a whiney wimp!
