The Wishlist Meme/Rules:<

Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for __ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

*Surf around your friends list (or friends’ friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.

And now here's the important part:

*If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out; it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not—it's your call.

* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wish List

1. If anyone took my advice and read the Felix Castor novels, you should totally write a Juliet/Sue fic. Because I would comment on it. Unless it sucked.

2. Could you guys write more Barda/Scott? It is my OTP and no one writes it, so... sniffle.

3. For this to become a meme.

4. I actually really love watch-alongs, but I never get a chance to do them. Maybe we could all get together and watch The A-Team?

5. I still have a crashed hard drive just lying around. Have you ever had an almost full hard drive and you're like "well, I could put some stuff on DVDs, but first I'll download just a couple of episodes off a torrent of a full season." So it'll be cool because it's just a couple hundred megs, but then there's spillover or something and because the size of the entire torrent is more than what you have on your hard drive, there's a small mushroom cloud coming from your computer? Yeah. So, if anyone has picked up something running e-mail for the Varrio Loco Gangsters (see how natural that meme is?)...

6. You may not be able to tell, but I'm actually a total comment whore. (This is the real reason why Home Is The Place Where It Feels is taking so long. I'm holding it hostage until the last part gets enough comments). So maybe if you have a fic of mine saved in your memories or bookmarked on delicious, maybe you could comment on it or give me a rec. IDK, I'm raking my brain here.

7. You could always say mean things about the Scans_Daily mods. Yes, I am that petty (not "use rape victims as an excuse to ban someone for disagreeing with you" petty, but this petty). I don't expect anyone to do this, I mean, since when do people rant on the internet?

8. Car payments aren't cheap, guys.

9. Well, if any of you are friends with a literary agent... (Note: This is a great way to stop being friends with a literary agent. "Okay, I don't have the new Twilight for you, but I know someone who writes amazing Cara/Kahlan porn...")

10. I'm just going to list a bunch of crossovers and assume that if you wrote them, I would want to fight crime with you. Scott Pilgrim/Jennifer's Body - Low Shoulder vs. Sex Bob-omb, YES. Glee/Leverage - Parker is Brittany's big sister and she was the one who got Artie robot legs (also she makes the team help get Brittany and Santana back together).

P.S. Alternately...

I bought and read book 1, and I'm waiting for Book 2 to arrive through the mailz. Considering Juliet's introduction, I think I could be persuaded to porn it up for you (it may be post-Christmas, though. Depending on the mail and my reading/writing time :D)

Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, yeah, I read it based on your recommendation. :D

All I really want is the strength to change what I can. Hopefully, this includes me.

Also, I really miss Wendy's. :(

Hard drive

In 2003 I recovered my hard drive with a truly awesome program called Ontrack. There's a free version that allows you to test to see if it would actually work on your drive, and then a version that costs $89 to do the recovery.

I also run an IT consulting business and could totally justify the purchase of the software to my partners, if $89 is way outside your budget and you were willing to ship the drive (I'm in the US). I couldn't guarantee that I could recover it for you, but I do have a good bit of experience with this.

Also, I mentioned running email for the Varrio Loco gangsters to my partners the other day. Dunno if it will catch on, but I am trying. :-)

I could send it to you, since I don't have the space to work on it right now, but I'm honestly not sure how much good you could do. My system won't even recognize the drive at the moment.
