I hereby announce the start of the One-Man Spider-Marriage Ficathon. For each day of the coming week, I will write one ficlet in which OMD is retconned, changed, nullified, or otherwise taken off the table so that Peter and Mary-Jane can be together. Pointless? Yes. But it's all I know how to do. Unless you think a pro-matrimony crochet would do the trick.

ETA: Just to be nasty, we could say that Peter's forgetting of the entire marriage would count as tampering with his mind (it certainly seems to have dumbed him down, as he's apparently in his early thirties and still working a dead-end job and living at his aunt's house). If he were in his right mind, he would never so much as touch someone besides Mary-Jane. But he isn't in his right mind, not anymore. So the next girlfriend-who-isn't-MJ he sleeps with would be Peter Parker being date-raped by Mephisto (we'll let the random ho off the hook since it might be Felicia who gets the nod. That'll be great "fun" when Peter gets his memories back and realizes he's cheated on his wife with the female cast, thus creating an unbridgeable divide between the Parkers and the new sucking supporting cast). Congratulations, Marvel, I'd love to read about Peter Parker being raped. That totally relates to me.

Hell, might be interesting to extend it to all fandom, once people realize just what crap the new status quo is.

Honestly, to me the new status quo feels like someone took a piece of prime steak, put it through a blender, turned it into baby food and then gave it to the cooks (aka the new writers and artists) to desperately try and make something halfway decent out of it)
