Chapter 7

Richard gets lost in the big city, inspiring the classic film Babe 2: Pig In The City, and misses Kahlan. Then we get a rant on Communism or welfare or some damn thing. Look, if Communism worked, we'd all be speaking Russian, but ffs, get on with it, man. We're coming up on a hundred pages and there's not been one leather-clad bisexual dominatrix.

Richard also runs afoul of some soldiers, who are mean, making the 'boo welfare state' thing even more pointless. Do we really need two scenes pointing out that the bad guys are bad? The book is already so heavy that they won't let you on an airplane with it because they're worried it'll be used as a deadly weapon. Also, the evil soldiers have an accent that mainly consists of shoving "be" in every sentence like Puff Daddy sampling a song. Richard nearly gets himself tortured to death by snarking at the soldiers, and it's not even snark good enough to be worth dying for, but then some D'Harans step in and say "man, we got this." Ruh-roh! Looks like trouble for everyone's favorite Seeker besides Harry Potter!

I'm trying to read Stone of Tears... it's torture in and of itself. I can't imagine reading Blood of the Fold (especially since Cara doesnt appear to be in it much from your posts lol).

How are you doing this? Reading the series? I'm reading at a crawling pace and losing motivation to read Blood of the Fold with each damned word lol

Oh God, Cara doesn't even show up in Stone of Tears until the tail-end. And before you think it's like season one of the show, it's not, because she does not even get to eat grubs or try to sleep with Richard or kill Darken Rahl or anything.

Blood of the Fold, you might be better off sticking to fanfic and hoping DirecTV comes through for us with season three. I promise I'll tell you when Cara does anything awesome.

Yes... I skipped ahead and saw that Cara shows up for like... the last twenty pages and I highly doubted she would have had much of a role lol It really cut my mojo in half... the books are so ridiculously boring I wonder why anyone would be upset with the show for deviating from the books...

Unless you tell me Cara is AMAZING in the book, I think I'll just fork it over to the library.

Now I want to write fic that has nothing to do with LoTS where a main character is in prison and his buddies send him a key and a handgun inside a book. But the plan if foiled because they send it inside the 'Blood of the Fold' book and the guards are like "Ah-ha! someone is trying to sneak in shit inside a book", and the hero is like "wow, how did you know?" and the guards are like "it's F-ing huge, plus nobody reads that shit".
