Well, they do suck, but since I am writing a YA novel with my, uh, sensibilities... they make things surprisingly easy.

Editor: Uh, what's with this part where the gay kid lashes out against his tormentors and tries to make a jock suck his dick? You've managed to make a school shooting more rapey.

Me: First off, it's not a school shooting if he uses psychic powers. Second, at least it's not a sentient baby breaking her mother's spine before a vampire chews her out of the womb and a a werewolf falls in love with her.

Editor: Point. How much money would you like for the movie deal?

Me: Lots.

The first couple of times, I thought that was made-up.

ME: "Okay, really, what really happens in the book?"
READERS: "...that."
ME: "That is some sick shit."

That's nearly what I tell my writer friends when they ask if something seems "too out there" or if their idea is believable. I tell them much worse has been done before.

Funnily enough, that's not the weirdest or the most disturbing thing I've read in a story. Heck, if the writing hadn't been so dull, I might actually read the damn series instead of giving up five pages into the first book. I know she's writing for young adults and all, which gets pretty cheesy, but her style is just flat out bad. [/rant]

I get the feeling I should be reserving a spot on TVTropes "Unfortunate Implications" page.

So, is the book under your real name or a pseudonym?

If they offer me a book deal, I don't care if they say the author is Lord Fancypants McGee.

DO IT.

DO EEEETTTT.

Seriously, I'm asking because I'd like to know what book to look for in the stores.

If I even get an agent, I'll be sure to make a post on it.
