More spider-reboot
Jan. 12th, 2010 11:39 amOkay, this is just adorable. And the day after I said "Peter Parker plays Spider-Man, while Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark." Well, RDJ, to top this, you and Jude Law will have to have homoerotic sexual tension at some British kid's birthday party until Rachel McAdams shows up for some reason and leaves again after ten minutes.
That said, the one thing TPTB can do to smooth this out is keep J.K. Simmons, who is the one thing that Raimi inarguably did perfect. Although it was a bit weird that J. Jonah Jameson seemed more like a tabloid editor than a big-time journalist, with scenes where Peter complained that he'd turned the entire city against Spider-Man, than other scenes where people yelled "Go Spidey go!" in the streets. But anyhoo, if we can have Judi Dench as 'the new M' for ColdWarRelic!Bond in Goldeneye and then as maternal figure mentor for Rookie9/11!Bond in Casino Royale, then why can't we keep J.K. Simmons? He'd be like John Munch, there's one in every universe.
