So I'm reading Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson and it's a very entertaining book. I'm going to wait until the end for a full review, but with a premise like "Fantasy Ocean's 11, only with overthrowing an evil empire instead of robbing a casino," how can you go wrong?
The weird thing is, sometimes I cast a character in my head and for Mistborn, I'm hearing the master thief hero's voice as Errol Flynn. Yes, if only Errol Flynn were still alive and young (so, a vampire), he'd make a perfect Kelsier. It's the mix of badass certainty in his own skill and jolly acknowledgment of how utterly insane his revenge scheme is. Captain Blood, all the way.
Also, for some reason I see Ham and Breeze as Alam Baldwin and Tom Wilkinson circa John Adams. So for their scenes together, I get Jayne and Benjamin Franklin discussing philosophy. I'm a baaad reader.
