Jaime Murray on Doctor Who
Oct. 13th, 2011 05:01 pmOkay, so Jaime Murray wants to play the Twelfth Doctor, which... c'mon. That's just unfair to nerds. I'm not really a fan of the girl-Doctor idea, as I don't want to see every episode turn into a referendum on transgenderism (c'mon, you know it would), but Jaime Murray on Doctor Who? That'd work. Perhaps as a Companion... but who? It'd be unoriginal to just redo Gaia or H.G. Wells; the Jaime Murray mission statement is to provide new and exciting area-tingles. So, perhaps...
Jaime Murray plays Clare Brinker, a politician's daughter from the 1980s. She works as a banker by day, and a punk rock girl by night. So you get both buttoned-down Jaime Murray and Sex Pistol Jaime Murray. Plus, she'd be the rare character who is even more anarchic and radical than the Doctor in wanting to tear down the Establishment, leading to new and different conflicts with him and possible other Companions.

Lady Felice Carmichael of Yorkshire (Ruth Wilson) is scandalized and somewhat intrigued by this strange girl dancing to a song with lyrics so disloyal to the Crown!
