( Bruce was happy being with her. He wasn’t a… happy person. He had satisfaction, of a case being broken, of helping someone, but actual joy was distant from him. It’d been a while since he’d felt it. There were times under Ducard’s tutelage that he’d been amused by Ducard’s… by Ra’s’s sly wit and rare deadpan humor, and there were times with Clark when he didn’t feel so alone… but compared to those occasions, this was tangible. Tactile, not fleeting. Under his skin. )
