We sold out on Twilight's evening showing, so on break, I was able to witness a capacity-crowd of fangirls watching Twilight. I know you've all typed SQUEE, but do you know what it actually means? Sit three hundred teenage girls in front of a theater showing Edward taking Bella to school in his Volvo and the make-out session (what would Joseph Smith say?) and you'll know.
Is it applause? The squealing EEEEEEE of fangirl glee? The sitcom audience woooooooo? My friends, SQUEE is all those things and more. You can sense, for the massed fen, the imperfect world crystalizing into a phase where all is right with it, all is at peace. That is squee.
