Well, the open display of hatred towards Emma is, clearly, Kitty's clever way of hiding her insane attraction to Emma. Emma knows this, of course, which is why she asked Scott to invite her to the team. Emma, as we all know, enjoys snark as a form of foreplay. This is why she's cooler than all.

Emma totally needs to start a new Hellfire Club. Scott could be White King, Jean would be Black Queen, Kitty could be... Black King (Hey, if Elizabeth Swann can be Pirate King, Katherine Pryde can be Black King!). Of course, she'd have to find a way to get them all to listen to her.
