I will ask you five questions.
Post the answers on your lj and then interview your friends!
Also, as
angel_gidget did: if you ask me to interview you, you may go ahead and ask me three questions in your comment that I'll answer in the main post here.
1. When I first met ya, you were furious over the murder of the Spider-marriage. Has your increasingly noticeable love for Peter/Felicia alleviated that pain?
Short answer, no. OMD/BND was all about a single Peter, so he won’t get into any serious relationships ever again or the writers would just be in the same “pickle” they were in with Peter/MJ. Because, you know, love ages people and no one young falls in love. So even if Peter did fall in love with Felicia… which is so staggeringly in-character for a Peter that is suddenly inexplicably distant from MJ that Marvel hasn’t even broached the subject… their relationship wouldn’t go anywhere. They’d flirt, go on a few dates maybe, then break up so that Peter could move on to the next OFC. Repeat until his love life is as boring as Bruce Wayne’s or Dick Grayson’s (since it’s all but canon that now Dick will eternally ping-pong between Babs, Kory, and whatever new love interest writers invent for him).
Of course, I think the only excuse for BND now is to ask “what if Peter got together with someone, fell in love with her, and then the spell ended and he remembered his life with MJ?” Now THAT’S high tragedy. Can’t be a new character, or the readers will have their pitchforks out for her anyway and getting him back together with MJ would be a no-brainer. But if it were Felicia, well… at least SOMETHING good would come out of the whole mess then (really, hasn’t Marvel learned their lesson of trying to separate Spider-Man from MJ? The Clone Saga, her death, their separation… that trick never works, Bullwinkle!)
2. You once wrote that Tim = end-all be-all of sexuality in the DC universe. Ever plan on doing a fic regarding that? Or is just an ongoing lore?
That was more of a witty insight into fandom then my personal fanon. Writing a fic about it would be irrelevant; the Robin fangirls have that well-covered.
3. Your username is self-explanatory after getting to know you... but why the thing with cats?
Self-explanatory? You mean ironic, right? Cats are just there because serious cat, serious fic… seemed a good gimmick. I was thinking of having all my user icons just be various cats, but you try finding a cat macro for “Emma Frost does it for lulz and orgasms.”
4. Which calls to you more strongly? DC or Marvel? Why?
Marvel, just because I grew up with it. If Captain Nazi shows up in a DC story… so what? But if I see the Living Monolith, I’m like “well, shit, son!”
5. How do you feel about Final Crisis?
Eh. DC has done so many events lately, and none of them have lived up to the hype… so what’s so great about this one? Just because Darkseid is the final villain? In fact, I’m suspicious that any of the big events have improved the DC universe rather than detracted from it. This one has killed off the New Gods and is apparently about to reintroduce them… but DC’s complete ineffectualness at refurbishing characters (the Flash, Wonder Woman) should tell you how excited I am about that. But hopefully this has made the point (of how creatively bankrupt the pattern of “big summer event, kill all the C-listers” is) indelible in the minds of today’s fans for when they take over in a few decades. Certainly has for me!
