Title: I can be like you
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Smallville
Characters/Pairings: Lex/Gina
Word Count: 170
Continuity: Takes place after 7x16 – Descent.
Prompt: 26 - I can be like you
Gina knew what Lex needed and what he didn’t need. Better than Lex himself, she knew. He didn’t need a Jiminy Cricket, some twit like Lana Lang to hold him back. He needed an equal, someone to support him.
Gina had always been ambitious; since she was a little girl she’d wanted to be the best and deserve the best. But for Lex, she could be ruthless.
The target was nobody, just some peon who’d been in the wrong place at the right time and decided to be stupid. All he’d ended up doing was hampering the war effort. And in war time, that was treason. He might as well have been an alien himself.
Gina fired, two quick shots to the back of the head. She was relieved to find that she’d handled the firearm properly. Not so much as a drop of blood hit her.
“It’s done,” she reported as soon as Lex picked up his phone.
“Good work, Gina.”
She loved the way he said her name.
