If you ever meet a woman using "Medea" as an alias? RUN. FAR AWAY.
Also, I really want to write a Greek mythology story where Atalanta is the badass warrior chica heroine. There can be a scene where her love interest sneaks into Hippolyta's palace, Ocean's 11 style, to steal the golden girdle for a contest, whereupon he finds Hippolyta... who explains to him that Atalanta was already there, asked nicely to borrow the girdle for the contest, and could he please leave, she's trying to get some sleep?

And I fully support the writing of that fic.

Date: 2008-09-20 08:54 pm (UTC)Oh, just a book I'm writing, in theory at least. Trying to do urban fantasy that isn't all about a sexy private investigator having lots of sex with werewolves and vampires and whatnot.
Ares, a turncoat demon, and a washed-up rock star battle the forces of evil (who would really rather go home early and meet someone nice than torture innocent people, usually). The hero meets "Médée" (although she's really more of a Persephone pastiche, right down to her name being Kore) and immediately nicknames her "Missy". It doesn't end well.
