"We may not have the money for CGI, or monster make-up, or B-list actors, or decent sets, or catering, but by God, we can have girls cuddling! Try getting that from America!" But then, it must be easier to deal with homophobia in Canada. If someone complains in English, pretend you only speak French, and vice versi.

ETA: I just found out the Mike Resnick who wrote The Outpost is the same Mike Resnick that wrote The Buntline Special. Which! I really enjoyed The Outpost, while The Buntline Special is the worst book I ever read. First book I couldn't even finish. I finished Faerie Tale and that one with the bloodstones that was supposed to be exciting but wasn't, but the prose in The Buntline Sepcial, it was like an Infocom text adventure game. A bad one. "Bat Masterson goes North. He saw an Indian village, filled with Indians. He talked to the Indian Chief. The Indian Chief cursed him to turn into a bat, because his name was Bat Masterson." Maybe I should've read it in the Harry Plinkett voice...
