Okay, I guess every year we're going to have a pop star do something rude and the FCC tell them off and other people going "God, it's just a nipple/middle finger/the word 'shit'". Here's the thing. The FCC is actually in the right here. No, I don't like it anymore than you do.
What do we always say when some soccer mom complains about how violent the latest Batman is or whatever? We say monitor what your children watch, be a parent. Well, it's impossible for them to do that if they're told they'll be getting some football and they end up with random charming behavior. I mean, I love telling people to parent their stupid kids, but I can't very well do that in good conscience if they're trying but being stopped.
This isn't about the fact that you, personally, don't find a nipple/middle finger/the word 'shit' offensive. You telling someone else they shouldn't be offended is just as bad as the people who keep calling things offensive. Imagine if the next halftime show had a country singer do a song with a chorus like "Then she gypped me out of all my savings." You're like "holy crap, this was supposed to be the Super Bowl, you can't insult the Gypsies!" and then there were a bunch of people telling you "Oh wow, look at you, getting bent out of shape over one little word." Would you be going "Oh, right, I guess it was silly of me to be offended"?

To your point about the Superbowl - I might be naive but I geniunally don't think Janet Jackson meant to flash her titty. I really don't. And I really do think this M.I.A. twit knew exactly what finger sign she was flashing and "I don't give a shit" didn't accidently come out of her mouth and it needs to be treated accordingly.
I'm not a prude, I say shit and fuck all the time but, there' a time and a place and on national television when you KNOW its not ok? Bitch needs a lesson, thats all I am saying.
