I'm telling you, the controversy about "Elementary" (the Sherlock Holmes in modern-day New York oh christ just saying that is making my eyes pulse) would be solved if they just gender-switched the leads. Then it'd have its own niche and a passionately devoted femslash fandom that wouldn't compete with Sherlock's (much). With Cassidy Freeman as Charlene Holmes and Zoe Bell as Joanna Watson. Each episode, Jo gets a fight scene while Charlene stands back and makes disparaging comments. "No, hit his left leg, his left leg, he had knee surgery there recently! Oh, and now you're in a chokehold. What's the American educational system coming to when a high school graduate can't even fight properly?"

ETA: And of course, Jaime Murray as Jill Moriarty. You can't have a homance show without Jaime Murray showing up as an evil bisexual obsessed with the female lead.

as much as the idea of anything sherlock related being set in New York, I would watch the hell out of this. Remind me again why you aren't some sort of TV exec, or at least a script writer?
