Before Bane was announced as the villain of TDKR, there was a lot of talk of doing the Riddler as a Zodiac killer wannabe, taunting the police with riddles and/or as a brilliant Fed hunting the Batman and eventually going mad in his obsession (leading to a duel identity as he constructs a supervillain persona to bait Batman).
Basically, I want to do that, then have Edward Nygma hit him a lot with a question mark-shaped cane.
