The movie makes a big deal about how the Girl works at a college radio station which plays music Jay Baraka has never heard of, so the song that gets played multiple times and is basically "their song" is one of those corporate pop songs that you can hear twenty times an hour on KISS FM. I'm pretty sure Glee's done it.
