seriousficSo, having seen around the blogosphere the usual number of posts on A Game of Thrones regarding its sexism, rape scenes, and racism, one thought occurs to me. Not on the show, which I haven't watched and thus can't rightly have much of an opinion on, or on the books, which I haven't read in a while. In fact, the thought goes something like this:
"So, internet, you want an epic fantasy series, but with strong female characters, no rape scenes, and on top of all that, maybe instead of animalistic black characters who rape blonde women, we could have a badass black warrior who is also a loving husband and father, and he helps the heroes fight evil? That sound good? Well, we had that show and it was called Legend of the Seeker and you didn't watch it, so now this is happening!"
