For anyone who wants to write Wonder Woman (yes, all four of us), here's a pretty handy primer to her gods. It's not complete, as Wondy is somewhat open about her distaste for Ares, Hades, Zeus, and so on (so does that mean War, Death, and Power are always bad?) because necessarily the gods must be characters and characters must have alignments and reading about a bunch of true neutrals would make for a boring supporting cast. But Greek Gods as Diana's Greek Chorus is an interesting idea, and one that could be easily adapted to fic.

And in case anyone is wondering, the Greek Gods are subordinate to "Gaea," who could be seen as another form of the Presence/the Source/what have you.

In case you're more in the mood for feeelthy porn (and since you're in fandom, I'm gonna go with yes), X Novels. No, not books about the X-Men. It's "classic" porn written to make any given badsex spork community flee in terror. Best of all, it seems like most of them have introductions from "the Publisher" to try to justify what you're about to read as more than pandering smut. Think the old Hayes Code "here's some shocking depravity, but you'll LEARN SOMETHING FROM IT." I imagine him as sounding like Dwayne of the sewer mutants... or Michael Haneke.

Take a note that for some reason, there's a disturbing tendency of smut novels to focus on incest and zoophilia. But browsing through the squick gets you the occasional gem, like a gay erotica magnum opus titled... .

A question often asked by those who deal with psychological problems is: What is normal? The answer to that seemingly simple question will probably never be answered.

For example, it is normal for some primitive inhabitants of South American jungles to perform, before the entire village, what Americans would consider depraved sexual acts.

The people within a particular society usually are well aware of what is considered acceptable behavior for them. And therein lies the problem for the main character of this novel.

For eighteenteen-year-old Davey, it is a major step to admit, then accept his homosexuality. Yet even as he is adjusting to his new insight into his nature, Davey finds himself introduced, and drawn into, another facet of gay sex — into the dark world where souls mix pleasure with pain, agony with ecstasy, until they learn what is considered acceptable behavior whether in the role of slave or master.

CHICKEN SLAVE — a story dealing with a sexual dilemma that confronts all of us in one form or another. We cannot pass judgment on how individuals seek and find sexual pleasure. We can only look at them with an open mind, seeing how some members of our society face the problem.

The Publisher

Man, it is kinda offensive to market to a fetish consumer base in such a manner that homosexuality, even mixed with S&M, is equated with bestiality. DO NOT WANT. Each book also comes with a cover illustration. The best have these drawings, so if the story's about the preacher's daughter (wink wink), then you get to see a little cartoon minister walking in on his daughter having sex. Oh noes!

Monster Island - Haven't had a chance to read this yet, but it's about zombies. So how bad can it be? (If you're from Italy, don't answer that.)
