Toph doesn't see what all the fuss is about...

Looking over the cast list of the Last Airbender movie, I noticed something odd. As you’re probably aware, the multiracial cast has been replaced by white people.



But wait, that's the good guys, the Water Tribe and the Air Nomads. What about the bad guys?



I think I notice a certain theme there... Which is weird, because in the cartoon, the Fire Nation was plainly stylized after feudal Japan.



So the Avatar movie will be about a bunch of brown people launching attacks on white people in order to take over the world.

Wow, where do these creative types get their ideas?

Dev Patel choosing an M. Night Shyamalan film as his first post-Slumdog project continues to be really depressing. Why, Dev, why? (I'm guessing the answer is money, which, fair enough)

I actually thought this was quite interesting. I wondered myself why they would cast like this. My daughter is a huge fan of the cartoon and so am I, so when we saw who they cast we were like..huh??

I'm hoping that Shyamalan won't kill this film like he killed plenty of his other ones. This cartoon turned movie can actually be a hit if done correctly.
