seriousficI am literally about to finish a 50,000 word novel, written while I was waiting for another novel to be betaed. I just... ugh... sometimes I wish I could just skip ahead six months so I could find my manuscript all nice and highlighted and commented on and with... insight... but ten gets you twenty someone's great-uncle's next-door neighbor's kid was going back to school and needed colored pencils, so that back-burner stays nice and full.
Which I know is not terribly fair to the lovely people I asked to beta for me but 1. If you can't do it, just say so, don't say yes and then keep me hanging while I work a shitty job because I don't wanna send in a first draft, 2. It's my LJ, if I'm not writing porn, I'm supposed to be whining.
Now here is a picture of a sad kitten so you can feel bad.

ETA: To be fair, I do have some betas who are ridiculously punctual and insightful, so...
BUT DON'T FORGET SAD KITTEN.
