YOU GUYS, I am so psyched for a Q vs. Trelane Star Trek sequel (TNG crew optional... sob... yes, I know it'd be impossible to cross them over with the XI crew and give over a dozen characters something cool to do, since even Bones got short-shifted in XI, but... I can still dream about a three-hour TNG vs. TOS movie. You can't take the sky from me).

Where as I before I flagrantly abused the parenthetical? Oh, right, Trelane movie. HERE ARE SOME AWESOME MOTHERFUCKERS WHO SHOULD BE IN IT.

Harry Mudd was an intergalactic conman good for comic relief. I'm sure the writers can find something to do with him. And tell me Jim Broadbent wasn't BORN to play him. I'm sure there'd be some canon of Broadbent being older than Mudd was, but just have him say he's going to get Space Botox in the final scene and you're done. Plus, Q, Harry Mudd, and Trelane in the same movie? Ring up Rachel Ray, I found the recipe for success!

Okay, Trelane was basically the proto-Q, one of those omnipotent-but-not-really douches that Kirk ran into on a weekly basis. Memorably, it turned out he was literally a young, spoiled brat by his race's standards and the episode ended with his parents canceling playtime. The question of just how many dickish, god-like tricksters were running around the Star Trek universe led to speculation that Trelane and Q were somehow connected, which was eventually made somewhat canon in the novel Q Squared. So, basically he'd make the perfect villain and goddamnit, LOOK AT TENNANT. He wasn't BORN to play Trelane, he was genetically engineered in a lab and trained from birth to play Trelane!

The Squire of Gothos is just a mirror universe (lol!) version of the Doctor anyway! God-like being who likes screwing with mortals for his own enjoyment, reliance on technology to amp up his omnipotence, a young member of his cosmic-powered race looked down upon for rebelling and being immature?

Shohreh Aghdashloo as Number One

For those of you who, you know, actually have lives, Number One was the first officer in the original Star Trek pilot. Her actress, Majel Barrett, was later recast as Christine Chapel, so short of casting the same actress in a dual role, why not take the opportunity to add a POC to the cast? I don't know, it just seems to fit, and the Enterprise bridge crew could use someone experienced... maybe the equivalent of a Soviet political officer, someone there to make sure Kirk isn't screwing the Prime Directive up too badly? After all, in STXI (SPOILER) most of the graduating class was killed by Nero, so Kirk's promotion was probably a matter of necessity. Starfleet doesn't necessarily trust him, so there should be someone who he has to prove himself to. Why not make it a strong female character instead of Spock? Plus, canonically she'd end up voicing all Federation computers. WIN.
