But all you've seen that's good are episodes of Justified? "Ava, get a fancy dress, we need to go to the Bennets' barbecue." What, Boyd, are you the redneck James Bond now? Is Ava the redneck Eva Green? You crazy kids...
So apparently the plan for the Justice League movie is to not incorporate the Zach Snyder Superman or the Chris Nolan Batman, so it might just be New Batman, New New Superman, Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern. Which is pretty much what people hated about the last JLA project. Although someone suggested Brandon Routh as the New Old Superman, which would be so confusing that it would count as a faithful adaptation of the comics.
You know what I'd watch? A World's Finest movie. That would have to be simpler to put together than a whole Justice League. The thing is, I think the general public doesn't really know who Captain America or Thor is, so the Avengers is kinda going to be "Robert Downey Jr. and oh, those other guys from other movies, that's kinda neat." A buddy-cop movie with Superman and Batman, the concept sells itself. And you can explore the genesis of the Superman/Batman friendship a lot better than a JLA movie (since by definition, in that, they'd have to like each other enough to form a team, which is skipping over a lot of interesting baggage). Just get Henry Cavil and whoever you want to be the new Batman, put them through the "I don't trust you --> here's a hunk of Kryptonite in case you ever need to kill me" arc, boom, there's your 2012 summer blockbuster (Superman getting mind-controlled and going rogue is another fun thing to do that you couldn't really show in a Superman movie. What, would you be rooting for Jimmy Olsen to beat him up?).
Then at the end, when there's a huge disaster/invasion going on, show some woman flying around helping people. Very end, Superman and Batman are looking at one of those "Who is Wonder Woman?" newspapers and making "hmm" noises, ala Batman Begins. 2013, have your Flash, Wonder Woman, and whatever else movies (include a Superman cameo in Wondy's movie, George Perez style... not him inspiring her, but just them comparing notes so to speak), and by 2014 you have a pretty good line-up for a JLA movie.
Does this make any sense or have I become one of those people who script outlines for a Rocket Raccoon trilogy? (Episode 2: The Fall of Rocket Raccoon)
