Is it just me or...?
Jan. 7th, 2009 12:25 amEverytime a guy confesses his undying love to a woman (preferably after a crucial misunderstanding or an aborted love triangle, and most hopefully before she can get on a plane), he always leads with "You're smart, funny, beautiful"? The third one is a variable, but a guy has to mention that his lady love is smart and funny. It's like a rule. It obviously springs from writers wanting to spotlight that he doesn't just love the girl because she looks like Megan Fox (as if that isn't reason enough), but it's always smart and funny. ALWAYS!
I think I'm going to enjoy the collective brainfreeze I'll give everyone by throwing a curveball their way. "You're smart, funny, the best swordswoman I've ever met... not funny in a ha-ha way, just so you know, in fact I don't think I've ever seen you laugh, but you get my jokes, even the really nutty ones that I only make to amuse myself in the midst of space mutant craziness. And you get those teeny-tiny smiles... I love those smiles. I love you. Stay with me. Or take me with you. I can't not have you part of my life."
Okay, that was horrible, but anything other than the incestuous twins of Smart and Funny!
