Keep the dance scene in the club, but make it more kinky/creepy/sexy. Peter and Felicia are nearly ripping each others' clothes off, than Peter dips Felicia and she sees Mary-Jane crying and all the pieces slam together.
In fact, treating symbiote!Peter more seriously in general instead of trying to recapture the hilarity of the "raindrops keep falling on my head" sequence from the second movie would be a good fourth step to making SM3 better.
