Admitting for the moment that there are valid criticisms that can be made of Wonder Woman's costume (of course, that could be said for any "classic" costume -- underwear on the outside, anyone?), this is not one of them. Based on the artist, Wondy generally wears a pretty conservative one-piece (which is why when it's a bad artist, he feels the need to have it get ripped up into something more porny). Now, if she were wearing a pair of pasties and a thong, then yes, that would be a good parody. But as of now, he'd have to be wearing, say, long pants and no shirt, or boxing trunks and a tanktop, for it to equal Wonder Woman's objectification.

And yes, that is taking into account the girl-nipples = bad, man-nipples = okay thing that Janet Jackson taught us.

Yeah, the shriekers always feel like they have to kick it up a notch with their "parodies". Apparently a man's not being degraded unless he's wearing 1/15th the clothes that a woman is. See the famous "equal opportunity" Spider-Man image in response to the Mary Jane statuette.

I agree, but I disapprove of the last paragraph. I have to wonder how many het guys would honestly object to a world full of topless females. ( Unless it's the prospect of scary granny boobs... )

I think the thing that bugs me is that it would actually be possible to fight in Wondy's costume- not terrifically comfortable, mind, and not if you have a problem with your enemy getting a real good look- but not in male!Wondy's thong there. She wears granny panties, for god's sake.
