The best part - since Anansi is a newish character in spider-lore, having him pick a new avatar for whatever reason is perfectly reasonable. Whereas Mephisto going through all this trouble to destroy Peter and MJ's marriage, which in most respects seems to have made his life ridiculously easier... OOC. So OOC.
