Friday Night Lights - the shallow review

So I've been watching Friday Night Lights and first off, Lila (Leila? Lyla?) Garrity looks way too much like Leighton Meester. It's like there was originally one ur-brunette and then in a TOS-like transporter accident, she was separated into the evil aggressive HBIC side (Meester) and the passive weepy side (Garrity). I keep expecting Blake Lively to show up and have a threesome with her/them.

More importantly, Kyle Chandler has somehow become my head!Scott Free. He just has that solid core of happily married super-heterosexual domestic bliss with 2.5 kids but also a badass... thing. Plus, gangsta pose!


This calls for an inspirational scene of football players practicing while I yell encouragement at them!


Needless to say, the show would be improved if he were married to Big Barda. But then, any show would be improved if Big Barda were in a starring role.


Supernatural: The Winchesters and Big Barda fight demons. Barda smacks Dean whenever he says something misogynistic.

Doctor Who: The Doctor and Big Barda travel through time and space. Barda smacks the Doctor whenever he's stupidly pacifistic.

Battlestar Galactica: The Coloniel Fleet and Big Barda search for Earth. Barda smacks Ron Moore.


Now I just need to think up a good Barda, which is hard because Gina Carone can't act. Maybe Ali Larter, if she muscled up?

Oh, and is it just me, or does Voodoo have crazy eyes? I keep expecting him to run off and try to kill Vic Mackie.
