Heartbeat Sensor
Feb. 12th, 2008 05:59 pmSo I was watching TV and I saw a commercial for a car with a heartbeat sensor. Apparently this is a little diode attached to your car remote that beeps when the car starts up and it detects a heartbeat... presumably just in case there's a guy hiding in your car, ready to rape you despite the gas station attendant's warning. Ooga booga!
Is this really a problem? I mean, if you're that worried, buy a flashlight. It's not only more useful, but it can also double as a club if called upon.
Really, now, this whole thing is just capitalizing on paranoia and fear. And so, under the guise of preventing the predation of women, this "heartbeat sensor" is preying on women...'s wallets. Not impressed, car manufacturers. Not impressed.
