Scans: Wonder Woman Delivers A Baby
Jan. 18th, 2008 09:37 pmFrom Wonder Woman 55 and 56.
Wonder Woman is being attacked by Dr. Psycho, who as part of a long campaign involving most of Wondy's supporting cast, tries to play her against Hermes (who is mostly human at the time). That fails. While Dr. Psycho's at it, a pregnant woman is investigating his guise as a child psychologist. She stumbles in on him and he whams her with his power.

As a brief note of levity, this early Dr. Psycho's gimmick isn't that he's snarky and perverted, but that he talks... like... William Shatner!

Wonder Woman and Hermes go to the Kapatelises' house, where Nessie and Julia (the "Maiden" and "Crone" to Diana's "Mother") are having hallucinations due to Dr. Psycho's influence. After much trial, Diana uses Nessie to trace Dr. Psycho to the house of Dr. Stanton (the child psychologist he's been impersonating).
Payback time.

Wonder Woman takes Helen (the pregnant woman) to a hospital, where she gets an icy reception due to her fellow Amazons being framed as cop-killers, part of the larger War of the Gods storyline. Think of it like Amazons Attack, the beta version (astonishingly, the release version apparently had numerous bugs that weren't present in the beta). After Diana puts up with a lot, the diagnosis comes back: Helen is dead either way, so the doctors are urging her husband to induce labor.
Diana has another plan.

As an aside, this is why you really should pick out a name for your child before the delivery date. Because when Wonder Woman's trying to help you out and just saying "baby" or "babe," it sounds like she's singing the greatest hits of Barry White. Ohhhh yeah!

Let's see Batman do that with prep time.
