Today's moment of feminism brought to you by Big Barda, Scott Free, and Jack Kirby.

Don't shoot Big Barda in the head with a ray-gun. It will just make her mad.

It's not a party until Barda is spinning two mooks around in mid-air. While wearing a skirt.

Also, Scott Free is so well-trained that he can dodge bullets at point-blank range, much like Cassandra Cain (I would say it's a sort of Zen meditative thing, where he can focus on escaping to the exclusion of all else and thus pick a lock, crack a safe, and construct a crude parachute in the time it takes for a normal guy to say "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, I'M GONNA DIE!"). But mostly Barda kicking ass in a skirt.

Scott and Barda are the most kickass couple ever. Can they come back to life now?

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Since the Apokolips gang can come back to life at will, I can't see why not.

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Morrison's why not. He enjoys making us suffer.

Your icon... "GIRL-COCK GOES WHERE?"

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOW! It is the perfect summary of Superboy and Knockout's relationship. And she looks like she's about to eat his ear.

And she looks like she's about to eat his ear.

You got Superman in my Lex Luthor!

You got Lex Luthor in my Superman!

They're two great tastes that taste great together!

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I read a fic like that once.

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you meant to say "every fic ever is like that".

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, like Lex/Clark is sooooo different from Tony/Steve! Or Tony/Peter. Or Tony/anyone.

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
They'd have different names!

I thought Tony/Steve was more like Bruce/Clark. Though what with Civil War, maybe it's changed.

Yes, but it doesn't count if they're angsty or edgy. They need to have post-resurrection sex.

After you rise again, then you rise... again.

I'ma gonna go to hell when I die...

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Yes, yes you are. But I'll probably be going there too...

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's where people who don't like Morrison end up, and they force them to read Tom DeFalco for all eternity... and they have to start with his Fantastic Four run!

By the time you get to Avengers Next, you won't remember what excitement even looks like.

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I liked his American Dream! Though half of that was the beautiful Todd Nauck art, but still...

Also, I don't dislike Morrison! He's a bit overrated, but he's not bad! So there!

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
After your soul has been consumed away by the vacuity of J2, they give you Power Pachyderms. Theat's when you want to cry, but you no longer have tears.

Ah, for that you only get purgatory. They have some Chuck Dixons there, unless you misbehave cause they give you Scott Beatty instead.

I'm willing to be convinced that he's good by Final Crisis and RIP? Depending on how they go?

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Although I enjoyed Final Crisis 4, and I am enjoying RIP, they are not the best things he has done. The storytelling is obtuse in the first three FC issues, and I like the fourth because it has the best Ollie I have read in years.

Seven Soldiers has better art to begin with and more comic booky range, and it's available as four nice trades. And everybody loves Animal Man.

[identity profile] museofspeed.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I've read some Seven Soldiers. The bit with the crossdressing knight. It was fun!

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Animal Man? You mean PETA: The Superhero?

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Only the first four issues are PETA-FORCE, after that even Morrison gets bored with the idea and it becomes the closest thing we'll ever get to Borges writing DC comics.

Not if you accept Alan Moore into your heart as your own personal savior, forsaking all Hollywood adaptations and rejecting shaved chins!

[identity profile] cissie-king.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I do both! But alas! I can't grow a beard for the glory of the All-Beard, and I won't shave my head for No-Beard.

You're not trying hard enough!
