During the movie Troy, I sat in the same row with someone (an adult) who gasped out loud in surprise when the Greeks emerged from the wooden horse, as in, they had no idea that was going to happen. I think that was the day what little faith I had in humanity curled up and died.

I had the same feeling when at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring one woman commented "But the story hasn't finished. How can the film have ended without finishing the story".
