Am I the only one seeing a problem here?

Kung-Fu Panda

Tigress: I'm part of the Furious Five! We're various species, portrayed by actors of different races and genders, who are united into a single fighting unit. Using teamwork, I'm sure we'll be able to defeat the bad guy.

They FAIL.

Po: I'm explicitly an American Caucasian by my mannerisms and voice. I'm able to defeat the bad guy because my species (read: birth) makes me invulnerable to his attacks. Also, I'm the Chosen One, so God has pretty much declared me better than all you other people.

He beats the bad guy handily.

Yeah, that does suck. Would have worked out much better if he'd, I dunno, gotten owned just as hard by the bad guy. Well, not quite as hard; he is the hero, after all, but beaten up well enough that he has to rely on allies instead of trying to do everything himself. At first, there's this training set-up with him and the Furious Five, but later on, you start to wonder, "Who's training who?" Then they take on the bad guy again and this time, with all of them fighting together (including the hero), they beat him.

Does that sound like a better movie?
