Okay, Amber Heard as Starfire. And yes, she’d look good as a redhead. All blondes look good as redheads. It’s like God gave you a cheat code for hotness. Watch me prove my case!

Who is Starfire?

Starfire is a character who, on paper, can sound absolutely awful, so I’m going to be pretty careful here. In a textbook case of Better Than It Sounds, Starfire is from a race of free-loving alien warriors who have similarly passionate attitudes towards both sexuality and battle.

But she’s not just a green-skinned alien space babe—she’s orange, for one thing. Before the reboot, Marv Wolfman also spent a lot of time detailing how Kory (short for Koriand’r, her given name) feels about her polyamorous and violent tendencies, how it clashes with the lifestyles of her friends on Earth, and who she is aside from all that. Although she’s often reduced to just sex and violence by lesser writers, Kory is also a genuinely kind, exuberant, and optimistic person, as shown in the surprisingly faithful Teen Titans cartoon.

There’s not as much of a contradiction as you’d think between her ‘adorable side’ and her ‘fight-sex side’. She loves who she loves, fights for what she believes in, and is generally a sweetheart who will kick your ass if you try to hurt her friends. So, yeah, pretty much awesome.

Who is Amber Heard?

Amber Heard is an actress probably best known… well, known, for being the one that very obviously wasn’t Nic Cage in Drive Angry and for playing the lead role in The Playboy Club (the series that very obviously wasn’t Mad Men). She’s also openly bisexual, saying “I’m open to whoever. I think it is absurd to assume that I have to look in a certain category. A person should make choices—about who they want to marry, who they want to spend time with, who they want to fuck—based on a variety of options, and I hope that one day people will be more open-minded about that. It’s silly to look in one category or another. I would never imagine a mate based on a certain sex or race.” It’s not really pertinent, but I think she’d like that Starfire is similarly open. Is this getting creepy, or do I have to start writing Amber/Kory RPF first?
