If loving Harrison Ford is wrong, I don't want to be right.

So I'm talking with a feminist friend when I make one of my hilarious and well-timed pop culture references, as I do, and she doesn't get it. Which is weird, because I get that a lot of people don't appreciate the oeuvre of Ron Perlman, but this is Indiana Jones! She's never seen Indiana Jones! And she's not, like, Amish or anything. She watches TV, she's a fangirl, so I ask the natural question -- "How can you watch Roswell and not Indy?"

"Roswell has more girls in it."

I'm never going to be that feminist. I would get an ulcer. From lack of Han Solo punching Nazis.

I'll try for this level of feminism. That cool?
ext_22444: Aisha Tyler and Milla Jovovich. No wonder there's steam. (Leverage Sophie/Parker Give In)

Worth every single woman on Roswell. Guest stars and extras included. ;-D

If she can get me to sit through all of Indiana Jones 4, she can accomplish anything. ;-D

There's an alternate draft Frank Darabont did where she spends the entire movie bantering with Indy, kicking ass, and there's no Shia LeBeouf in sight. And people think it's creepy that I would brainwash George Lucas to get that movie made.

Do you have a link to the script?

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2010-11-18 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Warning: It is seriously awesome. Even the title is better. Both Spielberg and Ford loved it, but Lucas said no, so we ended up with Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. Which is why I want to give Patton Oswalt a time machine.

Thanks! That was soooo much better than the official version.

Maybe she's trying to level up her Feminist feat, and needs the XP.

...Too geeky?

I think she just really enjoys female characters.

I saw Indiana Jones long before I identified as a feminist. It really didn't do it for me even then. So...I guess I've always been that feminist. ;-)

It's more intriguing...but what is she from?

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Kelly Brook. She's a British model.

And really, a supermodel who dresses up like Indiana Jones and talks with an English accent? That's just unfair.

[identity profile] ivanolix.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if Indiana Jones had been about her, and had performed the exact same script? Yeah, sure, it probably would have worked for me. ;-)

[identity profile] seriousfic.livejournal.com 2010-11-19 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think they tried that, just with a different name.

There's also that character from Supernatural, who was one of the few female characters the fans actualy liked. I'm fairly certain she was basically a realistic Lara.

I'm pretty sure Kelly Brook would look good in a burlap sack. And she (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2PNJRshJbU&feature=channel) can (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MssZ4k0XaI#t=1m30s) really (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w1Kv1_pGZk&feature=related#t=1m30s) move (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPKJv_TDZaY&feature=related). That said, she can't really carry Indy off* - far too clear a face. Indy needs mileage.

* On the other hand she's more than welcome to carry me off.
