Well, you know me, bright ideas keep popping into my head
So if I were to be writing an original fic (or a "novel," as it was once called) and wanted to be getting the voices of various sundry characters down and then I gave a brief description and opened the floor to questions which a specific character would answer... one, would you be interested, and two, would it be more dweeby to do each character with a perilously-close-to-dream-casting-dorkiness new icon or to just let every character be voiced by serious cat? Because that cat is pretty dang serious, yo.
If I were more ambitious, I would try to set up a comm where authors could role-play their OCs in one giant orgy of character definition. Think what the world would be like if someone had started that comm for the authors of twenty years ago (and there were social networking sites)! Bellatrix Lestrange tries to seduce Harry Dresden! Faith is invited to an orgy by Anita Blake and demurs when she realizes things are too freaky even for her!
Fun crossover fic: C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were part of a secret society dedicated to just this. As it turns out, the Undying Lands? Narnia.
