A really belated True Blood recap

If anything solidly moves True Blood from "campy entertainment" to "crackfic of itself," it would have to be the ten minute sequence were Eric remembers "oh, right, I swore undying vengeance against the guys who killed my parents and ate my baby sister. Better get on that." Maybe that works in the books, where Eric's just a glorified spear-carrier, but in the show where he's a main character, you'd think they could fit in some foreshadowing. You know, "Sookie won't have sex with me? This sucks almost as bad as when wolves ate my baby sister."
Just saying, you'd think that'd have more of an impression on a guy.
Does Talbot really need to hit on Eric? I was kinda onboard with him and the vampire king being villains who just happened to be too gay to function, but the oversexed 'can't keep it in his pants' thing moves it from stereotype into caricature. And that just takes all the fun out of making gay pun comics.
I... I... I kinda ship Franklin/Tara. Isn't it just typical that a woman finally meets someone who's considerate (ties her up on a toilet, thank you hygiene), engages her in conversation (how many guys would've asked who Lafayette is?), and isn't afraid of commitment (vampire bride, Tara. You don't see Bill making that offer), and what does she do? She starts sabotaging the relationship. Tara, stop dredging up this kidnapping business, it is poisoning your love life. Because one of these days, you and Franklin are going to tell your grandkids about how romantic it was that Mott tied you to a toilet. Or the vampires you sire to act as surrogate grandkids. Whatever.
Is it too early to ask for a Franklin Mott spin-off, really? He can move in with Davis Bloom. They'd be the original Odd Couple!
Franklin: Davis, you have to be more assertive. Chloe is walking all over you.
Davis: The only way you keep Tara from walking all over you is tying her to the bed.
Franklin: It works, doesn't it?
