I'd actually go in the opposite direction, since part of the appeal of creating this Spider-Boy is that you won't be so hidebound with continuity, thus every new reader has a perfect jumping-on point. "There's a new Spider-Man? Maybe I should give it a look." Going "look back at issue 455 to meet the new Spider-Man" would defeat the point.
