So, how does religion in Merlin BBC work. They make reference to the "old religion" which King Uther deposed, presumably some sort of pagan/Druidic thing, so presumably most of the cast are Christian (given how important the Holy Grail is to the mythos, and because if a TV show shows an uptight white guy suppressing New Age-y mysticism, he's probably not Jewish), then Merlin says "I know that the gods will look after me." Which is, of course, after we know that he wasn't raised to believe in the old religion and bears some disdain for it.

Of course, he could be referring to the Roman gods, but that's a fair stretch.

I wish these guys would do a series about the Civil War. Lee and Grant would be brothers in a sexy love triangle with Harriet Tubman. "By the Hammer of Thor! Abraham Lincoln has assassinated Washington and become the new High Chancellor!"

Elections would certainly be less emotionally exhausting if power was transferred via duel to the death.
